My Morning Jacket may just be passing through Chicago for the night when their sold-out show hits the Auditorium Theatre this Friday, but their stop will leave a lasting impact on the lives of homeless and abused kids in our city. A portion of proceeds from the show, in support of the band’s new album, Circuital, will benefit Mercy Home for Boys & Girls in the West Loop, a nonprofit organization that provides housing, mentoring, therapy and more for at-risk children in our community.
The philanthropically-minded band is donating $1 from each ticket sold to a charity on each stop on their North American tour. This is the second straight year My Morning Jacket has selected Mercy Home as its Chicago beneficiary. Last year’s show brought in more than $4,000 for Mercy Home’s kids!
In addition to My Morning Jacket’s generous donation, they have also invited Mercy Home to share more information about their work at Friday night’s show. Please come by, say hello and learn more about the kids your ticket will help!
