William Shatner’s One Man Show Beams Into Chicago

Captaining the Enterprise. Chasing bad guys in TJ Hooker. 10 million Priceline commercials. One man show on Broadway?!

Don’t adjust your television sets Trekkies – William Shatner’s One Man Show “Shatner’s World We Just Live In It” is coming to Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre On March 16th after a successful Broadway run. We must admit we were a little surprised to see William Shatner still alive after “dying” in the infamous January Priceline commercial.

The two-hour show will take audiences on a voyage through Shatner’s life and career, from Shakespearean stage actor to internationally known icon and raconteur, known as much for his unique persona as for his expansive body of work on television and film. We got a better look at the man during “Shatner’s Raw Nerve,” the popular bio television show where we saw him have conversations with iconoclasts of our time. We must admit it was a side we hadn’t seen before and makes us excited for the possibilities in “Shatner’s World We Just Live In It”.

It turns out there are many sides to Shatner. For instance – did you know he has also been successful in another area - horse breeding? A dedicated breeder of American Quarter horses, he has had enormous success with the American Saddlebred, developing and riding world champions and has won numerous world championships in several events. He united his passions for horses and philanthropy with the Hollywood Charity Horse Show, benefitting L.A.-based childrens’ charities. We always wondered why there were extended horseback riding scenes in “Star Trek: Generations.”

While we don’t expect Shatner to come out on horseback like he did at his 2006 Comedy Central Roast, we are counting down the days until March 16th.
